New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in New York peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Lucky to find this hidden jewel in the neighborhood serving authentic Italian bakery and sandwiches. The savory breakfast sandwiches are a long-awaited refresh of my menu and a weekend treat for the family. Staffs were friendly and the place was clean. Please open a second store on Upper West Side!!! There are many good cafe options but are highly homogeneous unfortunately.

Their terrific and unusual square pizza slices are the reason I come here. Not sure if the original owner, Jim Leahy, is still at the helm here but I’ve been coming here since it was located in SoHo and known as β€œSullivan Street Bakery”. None of the recipes have changed, just the address. There are a couple tables out front and a bench so it’s a nice spot to have a 3 o’clock snack. A mushroom slice is delicious as is the zucchini slice but my favorite one has thin slices of potato or artichoke. I can’t figure it out, but it’s great!! I just wonder… Where did Jim go? PS Ya gotta take a peek at the outrageous little boutique next door that’s run by an eccentric dandy, what a hoot!

Short walk from the hotel I was stay at. It was very busy when I got there, which is always a good sign. Small menu, but sometimes that's ok. Enjoyed the panino di colazione. I was too stuffed to try the cream cheese pastry I also purchased. Chai latte was good. I was surprised by the pricing for the area. I paid double the day before somewhere else.

The staff are warm, welcoming and vibrant. I’ve being stopping every weekend for my bread and lattes. True artisans at their craft and with such love and joy. Breads are the best in the city. Love this absolute treasure of downtown. Keeps a smile on my face when I arrive and depart. Thank you!

My husband and I stopped in randomly after viewing a local hotspot (read Ghostbusters station). I saw the bakery sign and we went it for a quick bite not even realizing what it was. It was a small, quaint space but so warming and loving. I recognized some of the words of items from learning French (they use Italian which is totally awesome). The gal in the morning on Dec 30 was so sweet and kind. When we were there a small rush of folks came in and she handled everything with kindness and care the way we are use to in Kansas
